Trevor Manning

Trevor is 56 year old and lives in Huddersfield. He works as a contract manager in the building industry. He is married to Virginia and has 2 children, Paul and Nicola. Trevor throws 24 gram darts which were made for him by Brian Bird. He started playing at the age of 15 in his mate’s father’s pub.  He plays local league and superleague but very rarely does any of the competition circuit with the exception of the Honley Open. He started playing for county in 1979 at the age of 28 and has played over 130 games. He says his high points in darts have been the 2 occasions that he has won the BICC highest averages. He says his lowest point was being dropped to squad in 1997. He has one ambition which is to play for England. When I asked him for a personal comment on darts he said “I wish there was just one World Champion and feels that the BDO don’t get the recognition that the PDC get when they are just as good if not better”
My comment on Trevor is that he is a truly emotional player who wears his heart on his sleeve which sometimes results in premature celebrations (after each leg) but are entertaining to watch, he is also well liked by all the Yorkshire followers.
