PLAYER PROFILE
Rachel Sheard
Rachel is 36 years old and lives in Mirfield with partner Sid. She works as a Prisoner Custody Officer. She started playing darts at the age of 17 with her dad in the local pub. She got her county call up in 2001, she currently plays local league, super league and county. Her high point in darts has been getting selected for county and being top of the averages in her first season. Her low point was when she had to miss county due to an incident at work which resulted in her losing her ‘A’ team place. She says that her ambition is to still have a pulse at the end of the game and a W. For a personal comment she said ”Its good when you are winning but when you are loosing you feel like slitting your wrists, I couldn’t do it without Sid’ My comments on Rachel are that she enjoys the social side of darts as much as playing the game, and although she has the ability to be a very good player, she sometimes plays more for the crowd than herself, but when she has her serious head on she will take some beating.
