Player Profile:
Mark Hartley
Mark is 43 years old and lives in York where he works as a Van Driver. He has 4 children Wayne, Aiden, Shannie and Ryan.
He started playing darts in 2002 in CIU Clubs. He now plays local league, Super league, County and local Comps. He got his county call up in 2005.
He states his high point in darts as the first season that he played in the York league and he beat Chris Thompson in both the Individual finals and the pairs finals. His second high point was getting invited to play for Yorkshire. He says his low point is every time he gets beat or if his darts aren’t going right he gets disheartened.
His ambition is to go as far as possible in darts (to the top). For a personal comment he said he has always been interested in darts and loves the game that is why he works 6 days a week so that he can afford to play. He has no gripes with either of the governing bodies in darts but prefers to play in the BDO as he enjoys the team spirit.
My comments on Mark are that he is not only a talented player who I think is sometimes underestimated, but also a very willing helper as far as Yorkshire is concerned.
