Player Profile  Brian Preece

Brian is married and 29 years old (plus another 23 which he doesn’t count).  He lives in Knaresbourgh and is a self employed builder.
He started playing darts in the local league in his early twenties, but started taking it seriously when he joined a superleague team about 20 years ago. He got his county call up for Yorkshire in 1994 and played for 10 years. In 2004 Brian moved to Humberside county team where he played for 4 years, he then returned to Yorkshire in 2008.  Brian currently plays local league, super league, county and he also does the competition circuit throughout Europe.
His high points in darts have been his initial selection to Yorkshire 16 years ago and more recently winning the Isle of man pairs with Steve O’Donnell.
His low point was not being allowed to play in Yorkshire super league whilst he was playing for Humberside.
His ambition in darts is to keep on enjoying playing and meeting new friends.
When I asked him for a personal comment on the sport he said, ‘I wish all the in fighting  between the BDO and PDC would stop and also that Scott Waites would go to the PDC to get him out of our hair ( I must point out that these are Brian’s words, not mine)  he then said, ‘Only joking Scott’ He would also like to thank everyone from Yorkshire for always making everyone feel welcome.
As for my comments on Brian, ‘well what can I say, having spent a fortnight in Las Vegas in Brian’s company I can say he is a very entertaining person to be around with his dry sense of humour, who just enjoys darts and good company as well as being a talented player, He is also a staunch Man U fan, Oh No it’s Leeds isn’t it.    Guess you will not forgive me for that, will you Brian’
